Future opportunity

Editor, Poland Magazines

Why this role exists

Poland Magazines depends on editorial quality, consistency and reliable publication. This role exists to own that: real editorial judgement, coordinated contributors, and a publication that is trustworthy and on time.

What you will own

  • Planning topics and the editorial calendar.
  • Editing, proofreading, fact-checking and final sign-off within your scope.
  • Coordinating contributors, materials, permissions and deadlines.
  • Preparing content for publication and post-publication quality checks.
  • Maintaining a consistent editorial style and sourcing standard.
  • Supporting publicity/PR for the publication without blurring editorial and paid-media responsibility.

What good performance looks like

Publication happens on schedule. Factual and language errors after publication are rare. Permissions, sources and materials are complete before publishing. The content pipeline stays consistently full, not last-minute.

Required competencies

  • Editing and proofreading.
  • Fact-checking and source verification.
  • Managing an editorial calendar and pipeline.
  • Comfortable with a CMS, publishing workflow and post-publication QA.
  • Understanding of rights, permissions and sponsored-content disclosure.
  • Holding contributors to deadlines.
  • Editorial independence and accountability for what gets published.

Nice to have

  • Experience editing a print or digital publication.
  • Experience coordinating freelance contributors.
  • Polish-market editorial/media experience.

Tools, team and working context

You would report to the Poland Magazines owner and work with contributors and, where relevant, SOWA's PR/media team.
